Cesar R. Alas, a 33-year-old man from Columbia, has been identified as the driver killed in a single-vehicle wreck near Broad River Road, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Monday. Alas was the only occupant in the vehicle found Saturday morning on Clement Road, Watts said.  He died at the scene of the crash.  <a href="http://www.thestate.com/2013/06/30/2842258/blythewood-man-ejected-from-vehicle.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Columbia Police say the vehicle struck a tree and traveled down an embankment after it ran off the road</a>, according to a report from The State.  Watts said the crash happened 12 to 20 hours before the vehicle was found and that it appeared to involve excessive speed.

The Richland County Coroner's Office released the name of the man killed in a crash over the weekend.
