Here are the top three stories today in Columbia:
- The Richland County Council met Wednesday and extended the emergency mask ordinance. The council voted to extend the mandate for 60 days. Currently, Richland County has a high rate of transmission for COVID-19. (Columbia Star)
- The University of South Carolina Symphony Orchestra performed a tribute to the people of Ukraine last night. The Orchestra played “The Great Gate of Kiev” as the final selection in Thursday’s Rising Stars Symphony Series. The competition took place at the Koger Center. (Abccolumbia.com)
- A gas leak has shut down a Lexington County intersection, impacting some Columbia drivers. The active leak is at Old Cherokee Road and Cherokee Trail and has shut down the road. Drivers are advised to avoid the route and find alternatives means of travel. (WLTX.com)
