Meet Heyward Gibbes Middle's New Principal Monday
The meet and greet will be held at Heyward Gibbes Middle School, on Monday at 6 p.m. in the school's auditorium, 500 Summerlea Drive.

Parents and community members are invited to meet Sarah Smith, the new principal of Heyward Gibbes Middle School, on Monday at 6 p.m. in the school’s auditorium, 500 Summerlea Drive.
Smith served as principal of South Kilbourne Elementary School for eight years. During her tenure, the school was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, made Adequately Yearly Progress (AYP) every year as defined by the 2001 No Child Left Behind Act and received numerous Palmetto Gold and Silver Awards from the S.C. Department of Education for outstanding student academic performance.
Prior to serving as principal of South Kilbourne Elementary School, Smith was assistant principal at Carver-Lyon and Satchel Ford elementary schools and she taught middle school for nine years. She said she welcomes her new assignment as principal of Heyward Gibbes and looks forward to working closely with parents, students and community members.
