Here are the top three stories in Columbia today:
- The body of a missing boater has been recovered at Lake Murray, a popular site for Columbians. The person had gone overboard around 11:15 a.m. on Monday morning, and searchers found the body that afternoon. Newberry County Coroner Laura Kneece later identified the man as Edgar Hofe, 78, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. (WLTX.com)
- The FBI Columbia Citizens Academy Alumni Association is donating over 2,000 water bottles to the United Service Organizations before a deployment. The organization made the donation at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport on Monday afternoon. The donations are for U.S. military members who depart from the USO airport for missions. (WIS)

- The City of Columbia will host a career fair today from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. (WACH.com)
- Columbia residents can expect increased clouds this morning ahead of the next weather system, according to the U.S. National Weather Service Columbia South Carolina. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, a few of which may produce gusty winds. Wednesday is cooler and kicks off a period of dry weather lasting through the end of the workweek. (Facebook)
- The Columbia Fire Department recommends that those purchasing a fire extinguisher make sure it is an ABC extinguisher and is UL approved! After you purchase it, mount it in a convenient spot near an exit. Make sure it is easily accessible! (Facebook)
