Nikki Haley Overseas Trips Cost $134K

Travels to Japan and England were for economic development.

Two economic development trips this year by Gov. Nikki Haley cost taxpayers approximately $134,000, according to the SC Commerce Department.

A report in The State newspaper today shows that the trips to England and Japan, in July and September respectively, were about $26,000 under projections. 

The trip to the Farnborough Air Show near London cost $97,000 with 60 percent of that amount going toward an exhibit.

The Commerce Department did not say how many jobs or investments resulted from the trips.
