Police Charge 2 in Shooting Death of Columbia Woman
Two people have been charged in the July 20th shooting death of a 24-year-old Columbia woman in the Lyons Street community.
A 20-year-old man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a Columbia woman in the Lyon Street community earlier this month, according to the Columbia Police Department.
Nickolas Ryheem Richardson was arrested Wednesday afternoon. He's accused of shooting and killing 24-year-old Dandra Monet Pelzer in the 1300 block of McDuffie Street on July 20.
Richardson allegedly fired shots toward a group of people when Pelzer was struck in the head, according to a release.

"While investigators do not believe the incident was a random act of violence, they say the victim was not the intended target," police spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said.
Police also arrested an 18-year-old in connection with the case.

Jessica Faye Edmonds is charged with murder.
City Police believe Edmonds was with Richardson at the time of the shooting and was the one driving car when fleeing the scene.
