Police Investigate Shooting Death of Columbia Woman
A Columbia woman was shot in the upper body early Saturday morning.

Columbia Police are investigating the death of a 24-year-old woman who was shot and killed early Saturday morning between Gervais Street and Forest Drive.
Police responded to the 1300 block of McDuffie Street around 3:30 a.m. after receiving reports of shots being fired in the area.
Dandra Monet Pelzer of Columbia was shot in the upper body and died on the scene, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said.
An autopsy conducted Saturday morning shows Pelzer died from complications of a gunshot, Watts said.

The woman was with a group outside a residence at the time, witnesses told police.
Officers are looking for a white, older model Ford Crown Victoria, according to a release.
