Update: Suspect in Armed Robbery of Columbia Home Arrested

Updated, 2:17 p.m. June 29, 2013: Columbia Police arrested Javier Ferguson, an 18-year-old wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Carolina Rose Court home on June 17.

Ferguson, who was arrested Saturday, faces charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, burglary and conspiracy.

Ferguson is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Original story: An 18-year-old is being sought by Columbia Police in connection with an armed robbery at a home near the Hazelwood Acres community.

Javier Ferguson is wanted for armed robbery, first-degree burglary, kidnapping and conspiracy.

Ferguson and two other men are accused of breaking into a Carolina Rose Court home on June 17 and pointing a gun at the victim, demanding money and personal items, police said.

The men allegedly used duct tape to tie the victim's hands behind his back and stole  several pieces of electronics, phones, a credit card and shoes, according to the department.

Officers have arrested and charged two suspects in connection with the case: Juston McCoy, 19, and Mitchell Barber, 18. 

Both face charges of armed robbery, first-degree burglary, kidnapping and conspiracy. 

Ferguson's last known address is on Nottingham Court in Columbia. Police say Ferguson should be considered armed and dangerous.
