Rep. Jim Clyburn Opens Up On NPR

The Congressman representing SC's sixth district spoke to his granddaughter on NPR about his life.

As the longest serving member of South Carolina's Congressional Delegation and the highest-ranking African-American in Congress, Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-6), 72, has a lot to tell.

But on the latest episode of NPR's StoryCorps, Clyburn used examples from his own life to tell his granddaughter about persistence. He is the first member of a Congress to appear on the series.
