Update: Irmo Man Killed in Shooting Near Monticello Road

Richland County deputies are investigating a shooting that occurred near Monticello Road Monday night.

Update, 12: 44 p.m.: An Irmo man died Monday night in a shooting near Monticello Road, according to the Richland County Coroner's Office.

Mandell V. Glover, 35, of Sweethorne Circle in Irmo was shot during a dispute between two groups that happened just before 9 p.m. on Woodbrier Street, Coroner Gary Watts said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy shows that Glover died from complications of a gunshot wound to the head, Watts said. 

Another person injured in the shooting was taken to Palmetto Richland, said Curtis Wilson, spokesperson for the Richland County Sheriff's Department. His condition is unknown. 

Deputies have identified suspects in the shooting and are searching for them, Wilson said.

Original story, 12:26 a.m.: One person is dead and another was taken to a local hospital with injuries after a Monday night shooting near Monticello Road. 

A Richland County Sheriff's Department spokesman said the shooting occurred on the 5100 block of Woodbrier Street around 9 p.m. after two groups were involved in a dispute, according to a report from The State.
