The new center will be located at the corner of Senate and Lincoln streets.

The University of South Carolina Alumni Center project is moving a step further after the Columbia Design/Development Review Commission approved proposed designs for the project this week, according to a report from The State.

The new 65,000-square-foot center, which will be located at the corner of Senate and Lincoln streets, will feature meeting and conference room space and a ballroom for business or social events.

The estimated cost of the center, which will be paid with private funds, is $26.4 million, according to the My Carolina Alumni Association.
