Richland 1 Names New Principals for 2013-2014

Students will be greeted by new faces in the principal's offices at several Richland 1 schools when the school year starts Monday, August 19.

There will be new faces in the principal’s offices at several Richland 1 schools when students head back to school on Monday, August 19.

The district announces the following principal appointments and assignments for the 2013-2014 school year:

  • Sarah Smith, former principal at South Kilbourne Elementary, is the new principal at Heyward Gibbes Middle School.
  • Dr. Linda Norton, former assistant principal at St. Andrews Middle, is the new principal at South Kilbourne Elementary School.
  • Dr. Felicia Richardson, former principal at West Lee Elementary in Lee County, is the new principal at Burnside Elementary School.
  • Dr. Eunice Williams, former principal at Cedar Grove Elementary in Anderson One, is the new principal at Brockman Elementary School.
  • Karis Mazyck, former principal at Gadsden Elementary, is the new principal at Bradley Elementary School. 
  • David Jackson, former assistant principal at Horrell Hill Elementary, is the interim principal at Gadsden Elementary School.
  • Elizabeth Eason, former principal at Hyatt Park Elementary, is the new principal at H.B. Rhame Elementary School. 
  • Claudia Brooks, former assistant principal at Satchel Ford Elementary, is the interim principal at Satchel Ford Elementary School.
  • Angela Brown, former principal at Hopkins Elementary, is the new principal at Hyatt Park Elementary School. 
  • Debora Varn, former assistant principal at Caughman Road Elementary, is the new principal at Hopkins Elementary School.
  • Andress Carter-Sims, former assistant principal at Forest Heights Elementary, is the interim principal at Burton-Pack Elementary School.
