Here are the top three stories in Columbia today:

  1. The Richland County zoning map changes have been delayed for a month to give more residents the opportunity to give feedback on the land development code. As per the current plan, the biggest change will be the "deletion of the RU district, which covers a significant portion of land within the County." Though the timeline for redrawing zoning maps has been extended, the county planning commission will still meet this afternoon. (WLTX.com)
  2. After being canceled for two years amid the pandemic, a colorful St. Pat's tradition in Columbia's Five Points neighborhood finally returned Friday evening. Over 100 adults and children gathered at the Five Points Plaza Fountain to help dump in enough green dye to last through St. Patrick's Day. The celebrations continue on Mar. 19 during the 40th annual St. Pat's in Five Points festival. (ColaDaily.com)
  3. A man was fatally shot on Van Heise Street on Saturday. Columbia Police Department officers received a Shot Spotter alert when they received the 911 call regarding the victim; they are currently investigating the shooting. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. (WIS News 10)
