Officers will begin patrolling the streets in the new sedan Friday.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott unveiled a new "symbol of police presence" Friday — the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan.

The new vehicles featuring an all-black color scheme cost $27,000 each, according to a report from The State.

Lott said in the release that changing from the black and silver to the new color scheme will save money that can go toward essential equipment inside of the car.
The Ford Police Interceptor Sedan will replace the department's fleet of Crown Victorias as they become unserviceable, Lott said in a release.
