Rising Star to Keynote SCDP Convention

Texas Congressman Joaquin Castro and will be the keynote speaker for Dem Weekend 2013 in Columbia on May 4^th hosted by the South Carolina Democratic Party. Rep. Castro joins Minneapolis Mayor and DNC Vice Chair R.T .Rybak on the speaking roster.

“Congressman Joaquin Castro has been a strong, common sense leader in his home-state and nationwide on creating jobs, building infrastructure, and supporting education in order to create a more prosperous future,” said SCDP First Vice Chair Jaime Harrison. “As we fight to get South Carolina back on track, we look forward to hearing from two leaders who have put people ahead of politics and delivered results for those they were elected to represent. We are thrilled to welcome Congressman Castro and Mayor Rybak to South Carolina.”

Vice Presidnet Joe Biden has already been confirmed to speak at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner on May 3^rd.

The events take place at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia.
