Here are the top three stories today in Columbia:
- A shooting at the Riverside Apartments on Lucius Drive on Wednesday has left a teenager dead and two injured. At around 12:19 p.m., police were called to the scene to investigate the shooting. No arrests have been made yet and no further information has been released about the suspect or suspects. (WLTX.com)
- An unclaimed Powerball ticket from a Columbia gas station worth $50,000 expires tomorrow. The ticket was purchased at the Lugoff BP gas station at Highway 1 South on Oct. 23, 2021. If the ticket goes unclaimed to the Columbia Claims Center by 4:00 p.m., the $50,000 will be deposited with the Education Lottery Association, which supports educational programs in South Carolina. - On Wednesday afternoon, the West Columbia Fire Department subdued a fire at a home on Goldfinch Lane. Officials found one deceased victim in the carport of the home and it is unknown if the vehicle was parked or crashed when the fire started. Officials reported that about 50 percent of the home is damaged. (WIS)
