Here are the top three stories in Columbia today:

  1. Over the weekend, a body was found at Ross Road in the Gable Hill apartment complex. Police entered an apartment in the complex and found a man lying in the doorway of a bathroom who appeared to be dead. According to preliminary information, it appears the man was shot during a break-in. Police are still investigating the scene and the victim has not been identified. (WIS10)
  2. One person has died after a head-on collision with a tow truck on Winnsboro Road. The crash occurred Monday afternoon when the driver of an SUV drove into the left lane and struck a tow truck head-on. The tow truck driver was not injured. (Abccolumbia.com)
  3. College students from all over South Carolina gathered at the State House in Columbia this weekend to protest the state’s controversial “Heritage Act.” The law forbids the government from removing any objects that are deemed historical monuments on public grounds. Protesters argue that certain statues and building names need to be removed or changed as they are offensive. (WLTX.com)
