Rival Campaign Slams Sanford Ad, Says 'Past is Prologue'

Andy Patrick campaign consultant responds to latest round of media by former governor.

Any chance that the candidates in the First Congressional Race would play nice in the proverbial sandbox seems to be fading.

There have already been accusations of push-polling and Tuesday, after Mark Sanford released his first television commercial, Mike Biundo, the General Campaign Consultant for Rep. Andy Patrick, blasted the former governor:

"Andy Patrick is a Christian man and believes in repentance. But he also believes past is prologue. Governor Sanford displayed a sad dereliction of duty in abandoning the people of the entire state of South Carolina, and his personal tour of redemption now is a disservice to the people of the Lowcountry who are looking for the next leader to represent them in Congress. This race is not about a personal tour of redemption, it is about the important issues facing our nation and the people of the Lowcountry have the right to judge each of candidates on their personal character and policy prescriptions as they make their voting decision."
