Seven Charged in Multiple Bank Scam Operation
Richland County investigators arrested seven people on charges of bank fraud and forgery; 16 others are being sought.
Seven people are facing charges of bank fraud and forgery in connection to a scam operation that cost local banks more than $20,000, the Richland County Sheriff's Department said Thursday.
Investigators with the sheriff's department's Financial Crimes Unit arrested the following people:
- Terry Daniels, 23, is charged with three counts of bank fraud and three counts of forgery
- Katrelle Breland, 23, is charged with three counts of bank fraud
- Rachade Boulware, 19, is charged with bank fraud and accessory
- Angela Johnson, 22, is charged with bank fraud and accessory
- Courtney Blair, 25, is charged with bank fraud and forgery
- Jamesha Coleman, 18, is charged with bank fraud and forgery
- Dnice Sulton, 18, is charged with bank fraud
Sheriff Leon Lott said in a news release that Daniels, Breland, Boulware, and Jackson would recruit others to take part in the bank fraud and forgery by getting them to open up checking accounts at TD Bank, Wood Forest Bank, and Wells Fargo Bank.

Video surveillance captured the suspects, which aided in identifying those involved in the scam, the department said.

Additional arrests are forthcoming, Lott said in the release.
