Here are the top three stories in Columbia today:

  1. Columbia police have made an arrest in connection to the shooting and murder of Quejon Gill. 19-year-old Terrance Jenkins was arrested on Friday and charged with murder and possession of a weapon in relation to Gill's death. The shooting of the Columbia teen happened in November of 2021 during an "arranged meeting with acquaintances." (The State)
  2. 2022 marks 50 years for one of Columbia's infamous cold cases. Beatrice Riley was murdered in 1972; the case has yet to be solved despite a decades-long investigation. Riley's brother spoke about the case to the press on Friday. (WIS News 10)
  3. An accused serial shoplifter is facing charges of facing gun theft and assault in Columbia. Christopher Cunningham, who was arrested on 14 counts of shoplifting and assault, has also been denied bond. Columbia police believe Cunningham also stole firearms at some point. (WLTX.com)
