Here are the top three stories in Columbia today:

  1. Richland County deputies are investigating a shooting outside of a Columbia-area club that left one man dead. On Sunday morning, deputies were called to Vegas Knights, where they found a man outside the club with a gunshot wound to the upper body; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released any further details; anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Midlands Crime Stoppers online or at 1-888-CRIME-SC. (WLTX.com)
  2. Amid a drop in coronavirus cases, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has updated its COVID-19 guidance for child care centers and K-12 schools. The guidance includes a Test to Stay recommendation for child care centers, currently in place within the state's school districts. Mask requirements for K-12 students who test negative after exposure have also changed. A full list of changes is available on the DHEC website. (Abccolumbia.com)
  3. The Congaree Vista Guild has announced the installation of a new sculpture called Motherhood on the corner of Lady and Gadsden Streets.
