A 32-year-old correctional officer with the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice was arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting a juvenile detainee, according to the State Law Enforcement Division. Edward Bing III is charged with one count of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. An arrest warrant alleges that Bing assaulted the juvenile on July 22 and that the juvenile sustained a compound fracture in the leg. Bing is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. If convicted, Bing faces up to 20 years in prison.

Edward Bing III is charged with one count of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
