Top Lowcountry rep backs former staffer.

Rep. Peter McCoy picked up the endorsement of one of the Lowcountry's top public officials on Wednesday.

With less than one week until Election Day, Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson, who serves Charleston and Berkeley Counties, backed McCoy.

"While serving as a criminal prosecutor in my office, I saw firsthand Peter's devotion to justice and respect of the Constitution," said Wilson. "Peter is a real leader who makes tough decisions with an educated mind and open heart."

"Peter is a true public servant who works hard in the state legislature to make South Carolina safer," continued Wilson. "And as our Congressman, Peter will work diligently and tirelessly to preserve the American dream."

"I wholeheartedly support and endorse Peter McCoy's campaign for Congress. And I encourage everyone in the 1st district to vote for Peter on Tuesday," concluded Wilson.
