Speak Out: Should Richland County Hold New Elections?

The case of Richland County's crazy 2012 election will go to the S.C. Supreme Court.

Michael Letts is challenging the results of the November election, when a new 1-penny sales tax was passed to pay for transportation infrastructure needs. Letts and fellow organizers said thousands of people were unable to vote on Election Day because of voting lines that extended for hours and hours.

Richland County election officials have vowed to buy new voting machines to ease the wait. And the director of the county voting office has been reassigned.
