Suspect Sought in Pharmacy Robbery

The incident happened around 6 p.m. Monday night on Broad River Road.

Columbia Police are looking for a man accused of robbing a Rite Aid on Broad River Road, a release stated.

The man allegedly walked up to the pharmacy counter around 6 p.m. on Monday night and demanded several controlled substances.

He then allegedly lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun in his waistband. The pharmacist complied and nobody was injuried.

The alleged robber is described as a white male, wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with the words “Appalachian State” embroidered in yellow or gold on the front, blue jeans, clear latex gloves, a light-colored baseball cap, and a surgical mask partially covering his face, the release stated.
