This Week at the Statehouse

On the heels of a week that saw Gov. Nikki Haley’s third State of the State Address and the opening of the filing period for the Special Election in the 1^st Congressional District, state legislators begin their third week with a packed schedule. Here’s a look at some of the key meetings happening this week:

Tuesday

• Gov. Haley’s Commission on Ethics Reform. @Edgar A. Brown Building, Room 252, 1205 Pendleton Street, Columbia, South Carolina. 10 a.m.

• Attorney General Alan Wilson will testify before the House Ways and Means Committee Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Subcommittee. @Room 305 of the Blatt Building. 2:30 p.m.

• The House Ways and Means Committee meets to discuss funding for the state’s special schools. Session begins One and a Half Hours After Adjournment @Room 521 of the Blatt Building.

• The Senate Judiciary Committee meets @Room 105 of the Gressette Building. 3 p.m.

• The Senate Finance Special Subcommittee on the SCDOR Data Breach meets @Room 308 of the Gressette Building. 4 p.m.

Wednesday

• The House Ways and Means Committee meets to discuss funding for the state’s special schools. @Room 521 of the Blatt Building. 10 a.m.

• The House Ways and Means Committee meets to discuss funding for the state’s Department of Mental Health. Gov. Haley has identified Mental Health funding as a key component of her budget. @Room 108 of the Blatt Building. 10 a.m.

Thursday

• The House Legislative Ethics Ad Hoc Subcommittee meets upon adjournment of the House @Room 511 of the Blatt Building.

• The SCDOR Data Breach Investigative Committee meets 1 ½ hours after adjournment @Room 521 of the Blatt Building
