UPDATE: Alleged Meat Thief Surrenders

Ronald Quarles turned himself into police after seeing his face on the news.

In a story Patch first reported yesterday, Ronald Quarles was wanted for stealing a shopping cart full of packaged meats from a Food Lion.

Now, officials say he surrendered because of the media attention.

On Wednesday morning, Quarles contacted the sheriff's office fugitive task force to arrange his surrender, a sheriff's office press release stated.
