VIDEO: 3rd Party Candidate in SC1 Charged with Simple Assault

Apprehended after allegedly striking an abortion protester with his car last week.

Larry Carter Center, who is running in the Green Party in South Carolina's First Congressional District Special Election, has been charged with simple assault stemming from an incident outside Charleston Women's Medical Center, according to the Charleston City Paper.

Carter Center is accused of striking abortion protester William Edward Gasque with his vehicle last week. The incident was captured on video by one of Gasque's associates.

Gasque and Center have a lengthy history. The paper quoted Gasque describing Center as "a problem child."
