Here are the top three stories in Columbia today:

  1. The Columbia City Council has approved another $600K for waterpipe leak contractors. The approval came during a council meeting on Tuesday afternoon. The money will be used to repair water pipes for Columbia Water customers. The $600K would come in addition to funding that was granted in December of 2021. (WIS News 10)
  2. Some Five Points business owners suffered flood damage after severe weather from Tuesday's storms. Tapp's Outpost, a space where several art studios are located, faced water coming in through the walls and floors. Many of the tenants spent Wednesday cleaning up their spaces and drying the studios. (WLTX.com)
  3. To help with their upcoming production of 'Romeo and Juliet,' the University of South Carolina is bringing in Shakespeare experts to lead. Director Carolyn Howarth and fight choreographer Geoffrey Kent are veterans of Shakespeare productions. The play will be performed from Apr. 8-15 at the Longstreet Theatre. (Charleston Post Courier)
