What They're Saying: A Look At SC's Political Blogs

Opinions abound in the Palmetto State.

The legislative session and the race for the First Congressional Seat are both in high gear. But they are just two of the topics on the minds of South Carolina's bloggers. Here's a sample:

  • Earl Capps is one of the most influential bloggers in the state and he is talking about the other special election in the state—the one for House District Seat 17.
  • Will Folks, the former Mark Sanford staffer who runs FITSNews, weighs in on the latest cruise ship dispute in the Lowcountry and the decision by Sen. Tom Davis not to seek higher office. Consider yourself warned, FITSNews is not always family friendly.
  • Waldo Lydecker talks about Rep. Jeff Duncan's prominent role in Robert Draper's look inside the US House of Representatives "Do Not Ask What Good We Do."

  • Patrick K. Phillips weighs in on the Applebee's waitress who snapped a photo of a note from a customer.
  • Fairly new on the SC blog scene is PoliStew, run by Spartanburg-based Amy Lazenby. She talks about Mayors Against Illegal Guns ad during the Super Bowl and states' attacks on Roe v. Wade.
  • Those in or interestred in the Tea Party must visit the Spartanburg Tea Party site by the inimicable Karen Martin.
  • Trommeter Times has some statistics on ObamaCare and wonders about media coverage (or the lack of it) in the Atlanta school shooting last week.
