What SC1 Voters Can Learn From Candidates' Responses
Candidates talk issues and issues only.

14 of the 16 GOP candidates for the First Congressional District responded to a questionnaire asking them to define what they think are the top 3 issues ailing SC1 and their prescriptions for the cure.
It's no surprise that all of the candidates mentioned the economy, jobs and spending in one way or another.
See their responses HERE.
But what might be interesting to voters is what the candidates did not say as much as what they did. For example:

Only one mentioned immigration reform as a priority (Ray Nash).
Only two mentioned Boeing (Bostic and Mark Sanford).
Only two mentioned the Port of Charleston as a priority (Shawn Pinkston and Sanford).
Only three mentioned education as a priority (Ric Bryant, Jonathan Hoffman and Peter McCoy).
None of the candidates mentioned climate change, crime, or social issues.
And a piece of trivia: Two of the candidates--Jeff King and Tim Larkin--work for the same company.
More importantly, are the candidates talking about the issues that matter?
