• Horry County's overcrowded animal shelter offering incentives to encourage adoptions (postandcourier.com) — Horry County’s Animal Care Center near Conway is packed with more than 300 animals, forcing staff to use a barn full of overflow dog kennels and limiting dogs’ playtime. Adoptions are currently free, and every pet is vaccinated, fixed, and microchipped. County officials are even eyeing a second, more centrally located shelter to ease the strain. 
• Meet Moxley: 25 Days of Pawmas (wpde.com) — A Conway shelter dog named Moxley is being featured in a December “25 Days of Pawmas” adoption campaign, giving local families a chance to welcome him home for the holidays. The 6‑year‑old couch-loving pup has lived at Grand Strand Humane Society in Conway for over two years after being found on the beach. Interested residents can learn more and apply through the shelter’s website.
• CCU women earn 67-61 win over UNCG (wbtw.com) — Coastal Carolina’s women’s basketball team picked up a 67-61 home win in Conway over UNC Greensboro at the HTC Center, improving to 6-5. After trailing at halftime, the Chants surged in the third quarter, led by Kinsea Grimes’ 19-point double-double, and held off a late UNCG push. They’ll open Sun Belt play against JMU at home next Wednesday evening.
