Arrest Made in Clemson Armed Robbery, Shooting

Clemson police arrested 23-year-old Montrez Jones Saturday.

A Seneca man has been arrested and charged with an armed robbery and shooting March 4 in Clemson.

Clemson police said 23-year-old Montrez Jones allegedly robbed two female friends while they were visiting at Goldenwoods Apartment complex on Georgetown Street in Clemson March 4. Jones also is accused of shooting a man in the leg before leaving from the apartment.

According to a report by Fox Carolina, Jones was identified as the suspect, warrants were signed, and he was arrested in Seneca on Saturday and taken to Pickens County Detention Center.

Jones is charged with three counts of kidnapping, three counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, according to the detention center's website. A bond has not been set.
