• The first murder trial in 2026 (wgog.com) — An Easley man is set to stand trial next month in Oconee General Sessions Court, accused in a 2024 shooting death in Seneca. Prosecutors say the victim was shot while sitting in his car outside an apartment complex, and police reported recovering a handgun believed to be used in the killing. The case will be among the first major criminal trials of 2026.
   

• Easley, SC, Man arrested for threatening Mass Violence Online (wnegradio.com) — Federal authorities have arrested a 30-year-old Easley resident accused of posting online threats that referenced mass violence and targeted communities including Jewish people. Investigators say they traced the YouTube account to the man’s Easley address, and he now faces a potential federal prison sentence and large fine if convicted. A detention hearing is scheduled while he remains presumed innocent.
