Cajun Dinners Available at Farmers Market
On Tuesdays, make the Easley Farmers Market your one-stop spot for fresh fruits and veggies, fresh bread and other treats - and dinner!

Tomorrow evening, stop by the Easley Farmers Market to get fresh fruit and vegetables – and that night’s dinner.
Chef Damion Norton will be serving up some Cajun treats during the Tuesday evening market.
“He’s going to have a demonstration of how to make jambalaya and he’s bringing some he’s cooked that afternoon, ready to eat,” said Donny Simmons. “He’ll be there Tuesday at 5pm until he runs out. Hopefully he’ll hang around and show people some other stuff.”
The chicken and sausage jambalaya will be served on rice. Plates are $7.

Last week, The Starving Artist Café, which does a Farm to Table dinner each Tuesday featuring Easley Farmers Market ingredients, grilled up some chicken using the Panola Pepper Hot Wing and BBQ sauces Simmons sells each week at the market.
“The Starving Artist sold forty pounds of chicken in less than an hour and a half,” Simmons said.
The Starving Artist Café will be grilling out again during the Tuesday Evening market.
Shrimp and grits plates will be featured later in the summer.
The Farmers Market is looking for more vendors to sell prepared meals. Contact Farmers Market Manager Lisa Garrett at 855-7900, ext. 7200 for more information.
“We look forward to people coming to visit with us,” Simmons said.
