Southern Wesleyan University holds service for senior religion majors

Southern Wesleyan University’s Division of Religion held a Commissioning Service for senior religion majors May 1 at historic Freedom’s Hill Church, located on the campus in Central.

Seniors recognized included, from left (front), Travis Hayes of Brevard, N.C.; Addai Lazo of Lowell, N.C.; Patricia Cloninger of Simpsonville; Will Henderson of Brevard, N.C.; Mark Atkins of Troy, N.C.; Charlie Fine of Spartanburg; Zach Childress of Thomasville, N.C.; and Mark Tennefoss of Harrington, Del. The service is a rite of passage for religion students as they transition into ministry or additional ministry preparation. Preaching at the service was Wade Rogers, 2007 SWU ministry graduate and pastor of Life Journey Church, a Wesleyan congregation located in Pelzer.
