Easley Businesses Throwing Block Party
Businesses on S. Pendleton Street joining together for bash on August 17.

Many of the businesses in front of the old Walmart in Easley joined together to throw a block party earlier this year, and it was so successful, they're doing it again.
Anna Esuary, owner of Upstate School Spirit, LLC, said the party could revolve around a back-to-school or football kickoff theme.
The party is slated for 11am-4pm on Saturday, August 17.

Participating businesses include Upstate School Spirit, Coyote Coffee, Skins, Subway, Pure Purse Obsession and the UPS Store.
“We're hoping to invite local booster clubs to set up tents and promote their fundraising opportunities, whatever they might be,” Esuary said. For example, Easley (Booster Club) has a punchcard that they're selling.”

The EHS cheerleaders and band have been invited,” Esuary said.
“We'll have a fire truck here, a police car,” she said. “We'll have free Child ID kits, music, hopefully a bouncy house. Paper Party Place will be here to give out free balloons. We'll have face-painting and other kids' activities going on. Coyote Coffee's mascot coyote will be here. Origami Owl will be there.”
The party will feature door prizes.
It's also a chance to pick up all your school spirit clothing and gear as fall sports kick off.
“We're going to have all the local teams, Easley, Pickens, Wren, Daniel, Powdersville and Liberty,” Esuary said. “We also some Clemson and USC spirit wear to get ready for the football season.”
The businesses that took part in the first block party were very pleased with the results, Esuary said.
“We had an amazing turnout,” she said. “It was Coyote Coffee's birthday and we wanted to do something in the spring to promote small business in this area. We had a great turnout. We were very, very pleased with the number of people who came and real happy with the community coming out to support us. We want to do it again in the fall and make this kind of an annual celebration.”
Esuary is looking forward to meeting Big League World Series players this week and her business is offering a special souvenir in connection with this year's series.
“We want to be a destination for the visitors coming into town, to be the place to come for souvenirs,” she said. “We'll have all the six local high schools. I'm hoping people will be very attracted to Easley. We'll have Easley baseball products. We'll have baseball jewelry, baseball headbands, ponytail holders. We're going to have Clemson baseball, Easley baseball, Clemson T-shirts, University of South Carolina T-shirts. We're going to have some South Carolina memorabilia with the palmetto tree and the moon, hats and other souvenir-type things.”
In honor of the big event, Esuary will be offering an exclusive Big League World Series kick sack, free with a $10 purchase from her store.
Upstate School Spirit is located at 1035-B S. Pendleton Street.
