Easley Ready to Play Ball

A day that players, teams, officials and volunteers have been waiting for all year has finally arrived.

The 2013 Big League Baseball World Series kicks off today at 4pm at the J.B. "Red" Owens Recreation Complex in Easley.

At 4pm Latin America will take on Mexico on Field 1 as East plays West on Field 3.

At 7:30pm, SC District 1 plays their first game, facing Southwest on Field 1. Asia-Pacific will play Europe-Africa on Field 3 at 7:30pm.

Tournament tickets are available for $30 for an adult week long pass and $15 for students. Daily and Championship game passes are marked at $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children under five years of age are always free. For more information, visit www.bigleagueworldseries.com.

Fans got a preview of the action last night as Big League World Series players took part in a Home Run Derby during Fan Fest.
