East End Elementary Seeking Tutoring Volunteers

Volunteers sought for PUPS (Parents United for Pupils' Success).

East End Elementary School is launching its PUPS (Parents United for Pupils Success) program for the sixth consecutive years and needs volunteers to make the program successful once again.

PUPS is in an in-school tutoring program that had significant results these last 5 years due to the efforts of parents and teachers who partnered to reach out to students needing additional assistance. The school has some volunteers, but need many more. Can you help? If you can volunteer with a student during school hours (anytime between 8:00 - 2:30 Monday - Friday) please let school officials know.

A volunteer would be committing to assist at least 30 minutes per week at a time agreed upon by you and the child's teacher. Volunteers would indicate a period of time that you are available. From this, you would be matched to a child who needs you. Can you help? If you are interested, please respond by sending an e-mail to Jessica Max, assistant principal, at jessicamax@pickens.k12.sc.us or Tammy Day, principal, at tammyday@pickens.k12.sc.us

You can let school officials know the time(s) of day that you are available, the day(s) that you are available, as well as the grade level (K5, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th grade) that you prefer to work with. Please respond by September 30th. Officials are extending this time to gain additional, much needed volunteers. These 30 minutes of time would make a tremendous difference in the life of a child.
