Emilie White's Work Joins Superintendent's Art Gallery

Easley High School junior's artwork will be permanently display in School District of Pickens County Board Room.

The artwork of Easley High School junior, Emilie White, has been chosen as the 2013 showpiece for the Superintendent’s Art Gallery.

Her painting, titled “City of Rest,” will be on permanent display in the SDPC Board Room.

“Emilie is a well-rounded student who has found success through her determination and her consistent work ethic,” said Dr. Rusty Jewell, art teacher at Easley High School.”

“Emilie is a joy to teach in that she is willing to absorb what the teacher has to give. She understands high school is an opportunity, not a ‘have to,’” Jewell said.

Currently, Emilie is a student in Dr. Jewell’s Art 2 Problem Solving Class. Next year, she plans to continue Advanced Placement Art Drawing Portfolio class.

“City of Rest” joins seven other pieces of art in the gallery, going back to 2004.
