Fan Fest Launches Week of Baseball

Fan Fest will kick off the Big League Baseball World Series in Easley with a home run derby, a Team Walk, a concert and fireworks.

This year’s Big League Baseball World Series offers an exciting and family-friendly weeklong event featuring the best of the best teenage baseball players from around the world on July 24-31 at the J.B. “Red” Owens Recreation Complex in Easley, S.C. The week long tournament will kick off with Fan Fest on July 23 including a homerun derby, fireworks and special concert by Casey James, an American Idol Top Ten singer.

For the thirteenth consecutive year, Easley will host the most talented 16-18-year-old players from Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Mexico, Canada and the United States. These teams will come up to bat for a chance to be world champions. The Championship Games will be televised live on ESPN2.

“For the past twelve years, we’ve certainly seen some future baseball legends walk onto the field, and we expect the same high-intensity baseball to be played again this year,” said Jon Humphrey, Tournament Director.
