At this year's tournament the team representing the Europe-Africa region will be from Germany, he said.
“The German team won their regional tournament by beating the Netherlands in the championship game by a score of 6-5 in Stuttgart, Germany,” Schaff said.
The Latin America region will be represented once again by Venezuela who defeated Aruba 8-3 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The team from Venezuela makes their second consecutive trip to Easley. In 2012 they lost to eventual champion Puerto Rico in the International Semifinal game. “Their
return also means that in 2013 there will be a new champion crowned when the Championship game is played on ESPN on July 31,” Schaff said.
These two teams now join the two automatic birth teams, SC District 1 (host team) and Mexico.
