Hagood Mill Presents Old Time Banjo Roundtable

You are cordially invited to come out to the historic Hagood Mill Saturday, July 6 for a unique opportunity to hear some of the South Carolina (also North Carolina and Georgia) old time banjo pickers demonstrate and talk about their skills.

The old time banjo roundtable will be held from 1pm - 3pm that day.

This gathering is not only a chance to learn more about these great old time banjo players currently playing in the Upstate but also a chance to hear about their journeys on their paths of old time music.

We will learn about how they got into playing banjo, what their favorite music is to play, and we will gain insights into their lives as banjo pickers.

The list of participants will include Georgia two-finger picker, Chip Arnold; the first lady of clawhammer banjo in the Upstate, Michele Turner; Doug Rostick, a master of the Roundpeak style and Amy Buckingham, who learned her two-finger style from Marvin Gaster and also plays some fine clawhammer banjo. Banjo picker and teacher, Bob Buckingham, will be moderating the event.

Everyone is welcome to this free, educational banjo concert…bring a lawn chair!
