Historical Society's Annual Meeting is Sunday

Our annual meeting will be held this Sunday, June 23rd, at 3 p.m. at the Hampton Library in Easley.  All members of the Pickens County Historical Society and their guests are encouraged to attend.  We'll be discussing our current projects and Ed Bolt, manager of the Hagood Mill Historic Site, will be our speaker.

The Confederate Graves Survey continues Thursday at 9 a.m. at West View Cemetery in Easley.  Join the team in this fascinating project.  For more information email us at pickenscohistory@gmail.com or call 864.878.1322.

All members are welcomed to Old Hester Store in Dacusville for the unveiling of the National Register of Historic Places marker Friday, June 21st, at 10 a.m.  This is the first such marker in Dacusville.

Friday, June 21st, is also the day for the grand opening of the South Carolina Agricultural Museum in Pendleton at 5 p.m.  There will be live entertainment, food and programs for the whole family. 120 History Lane, Pendleton.  Call 864.646.3782 for additional information.

The PCHS Board meets Monday, July 1st, at 1 p.m. at the Village Library in Pickens.  All members are welcome.

Remember to bring your folding chair and a covered dish to share at the annual Independence Day Celebration in the garden of the Hagood-Mauldin House on the evening of the Fourth of July.  Mix and mingle with your fellow society members and have a front row seat for the fantastic fireworks.
