Liberty Elementary School Welcomes Members of The Greatest Generation
Visitors share stories of the Great Depression and World War II with students.

Mrs. Miller and Ms. O'Dell recently welcomed members of The Greatest Generation to their third grade classroom at Liberty Elementary School. Mrs. Cool, Mrs. Cochran, Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. O'Dell, and Mr. Guthrie shared stories from the military, the Great Depression, and World War Two. Mr. Guthrie thrilled the students with songs on his guitar including one he wrote for his daughter when she was just a child.
Mrs. Anderson shared stories about her late husband who pitched in the minors against Jackie Robinson just before Robinson was called to the majors! The students loved having these residents from The Sterling House in Central as their special guests of honor as sang a special leadership song to them as well!
