Loretta Holloway to Perform at Botanical Garden Gala

"Moonlight & Magnolias is set for Saturday, May 11

Join the South Carolina Botanical Garden at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 11, for "Moonlight & Magnolias: Enchanted Garden Gala." The evening of dinner and entertainment will help raise funds for the continued maintenance, growth and sustainability of the Garden.

Singer Loretta Holloway will be guest performer.

Moonlight & Magnolias will take place at the Fran Hanson Discovery Center, the former Southern Living Showcase Home located in the Garden. The evening will include a silent auction, live entertainment, dinner, cocktails and the opportunity to learn about the new and ongoing garden projects enriching our community. “This is a celebration of our friends, our staff and our natural heritage that shine so brightly in your Garden," said Garden director Patrick McMillan. "The SCBG has long been a well-kept secret. I hope you will join us in celebrating the transformations and growth that are taking our Garden out onto the world stage.”

Gala tickets are available for $75 each on the Garden website and whole-table reservations are available. Tickets are in limited supply and tables are selling out quickly.

“Guests at the gala should be aware that this evening will not only be enchanting, but their ticket purchases will allow for the Garden to reach an eminent status within the Southeast, therefore bringing honor and awareness to the state of South Carolina,” said McMillan.

The South Carolina Botanical Garden is located on the Clemson University campus at the intersection of Highway 76 and Perimeter Road. The Garden encompasses 295 acres of display gardens, nature trails, woodlands and streams and is open year-round from dawn to dusk free of charge. The Garden is partially supported by the state of South Carolina via Clemson University, but relies on donations, memberships and proceeds from special events and educational events to fund operating expenses.
