Man Who Threatened Clemson Campus Released

David Graham released after guilty plea but no trespass order remains in effect.

David Reed Graham, of Clemson, pleaded guilty to breach of trust with fraudulent intent Tuesday and received a sentence of five years, suspended to three years of probation with one year of intensive probation.

Graham was charged by Clemson University police as a result of the theft of more than $2,000 but less than $10,000 from the Barnes and Noble Bookstore on March 18, 2013.

He was released on bond the same day.

Graham was taken into custody April 11 after making verbal threats against the university police and campus bookstore.

He has remained in custody until today. The Clemson University no-trespass order issued to Graham on April 11 remains in effect. http://www.clemson.edu/cusafety/trespass.html

The following conditions are part of the probationary sentence given to Graham:  6 p.m.-6 a.m. curfew, GPS monitoring, no trespassing on any part of the Clemson University campus, continued mental health counseling, follow-up treatment by mental health counselor, random drug and alcohol testing, no possession of weapons of any kind, restitution to the bookstore and no early termination of probation. 

Faculty, staff, students and other campus constituents should be vigilant and notify CUPD by calling 911 or 864-656-2222 if they see Graham is on campus.

University operations and classes are continuing as usual.
