A summer storm delayed the action a bit, but Mexico and Central earned victories in the Big League World Series last night.
A lightning delay was called as a storm moved through Pickens County, delaying the 7:30pm games two hours.
The teams took the field when the delay was called off.
Mexico beat Canada 7-1. Mexico scored two runs in the third inning. Canada scored one in the fifth, but Mexico racked up five more runs in the fifth, a lead Canada was unable to overcome.
Central snatched victory from East in their game. East took a lead in the fourth, scoring two runs, but Central came back with three runs in the sixth.
Mexico plays Europe-Africa this morning at 11am.
East takes on Southwest today at 4pm.
Canada plays Latin America at 4pm.
Central takes on the SC District 1 Host Team at 7:30pm. Â
