Murder Mystery Dinner Will Be Unique Occasion

Two upcoming events will give participants a chance to play detective while enjoying a great dinner in an unique location.

Unique Occasions at the Rock House will host a Murder Mystery Dinner on Saturday, June 15 and Saturday, June 29.

“We're doing 'Murder of A Millionaire,'” said Wanda Allison, owner of Unique Occasion at the Rock House. “We are selling tickets for dinner and a chance to participate in the mystery.”

Attendees will get a character description and a part and dress in character for the mystery dinner.

“They'll arrive for dinner and we'll play out the mystery,” Allison said. “They'll try to figure out who the murderer is. It'll be a lot of fun. It's not too serious, there's a lot of comedy involved.”

At the end of the mystery, certificates will be given out to for Best Dressed, Best Actor and Best Actress.

“And whoever solves the mystery will get a certificate,” Allison said.

The $50 ticket includes an Italian dinner with choice of lasagna with meat sauce, veggie lasagna, chicken alfredo or chicken parmesan, salad, garlic bread, desserts and drinks.

Guests will arrive between 6:30pm – 7pm.

“We'll serve light appetizers while people mingle and do their first round of objectives,” Allison said. “Then we'll have dinner, then the murder will happen. Evidence will be presented and people will try to solve 'whodunnit.'”

Allison said she and Budd Allison had heard of murder mystery dinners being done on much larger scales and thought it would be fun to do on a smaller-scale, with Unique Occasions at the Rock House being the perfect venue.

“The atmosphere of the home will be the perfect place for a murder,” Allison said. “The house has a lot of charm, a lot of character. It just draws people to it. It's just a beautiful house.”

Unique Occasions at the Rock House is an events venue that opened up last summer.

“July will be our one-year anniversary,” Allison said. “We went out the venue for weddings, parties, family reunions.”

The venue offers indoor and outdoor space.

“We have wedding packages, small packages for indoor weddings that include cake and punch and larger packages for outdoor weddings that includes everything but the flowers and the food.”

The venue can be rented for the day or by the hour for small parties.

The house includes a large kitchen.

“People can bring and prepare their own food or we have caterers we work with that we recommend,” Allison said.

She said the venue will also work with those who want to handle every aspect of their wedding.

“A lot of people are into doing everything themselves,” Allison said. “We allow that, or they can do one of our own wedding packages that includes a lot of stuff in it.”

DreamShots' Photography's studios in based at Unique Occasions and special photo packages are available for weddings at the venue. Dreamshots photographers will also be taking photos at the murder mystery dinner.
