One Man Show Now Open at Westminster Depot

Excursions III – Eastern Rails reflects artist's passion for eastern American railroads.

The Westminster Depot is proud to announce that the work of Robert M. Seel, AIA will be on display there from July 1-August 28th.  The show, Excursions III – Eastern Rails, features 30 photographs from Seel’s collection.  An avid rail fan and modeler since early childhood, Rob’s passions for eastern American railroads seeks artistic impressions that capture the beauty, fascination and life-long joy of trains.  These are studies of light and shadow, solids and voids, rhythms and rhymes, the rumble and roar of the present and steam echoes of the past.

Originally from Rahway and Bridgewater, New Jersey, Rob has called Clemson home since 1984. He is a 1988 Design graduate of Clemson University, with a Master of Architecture degree from 1990.  A noted railroad model craftsman, musician, writer and coffee roaster, Rob is currently writing a book about the theological history of church architecture.  He and his wife, Frances, have two teenage daughters and live in Clemson.

The exhibit is open Monday – Friday, 10a – noon and 1:30p – 4:30p.  Arrangements may be made to visit at other times by calling the Westminster Chamber of Commerce at 864-647-5316.  An opening reception will be held at the Depot on July 16th from 5:30p – 7:30p.  The public is invited to attend.
